Creating winter interest in the garden

Emma’s talk at the Royal Horticulture Society (RHS) London Winter Show in February 2015 gave visitors tips and inspiration for creating winter interest in their gardens. The horticultural expertise was shared to create a naturalistic British winter garden using trees with interesting bark and silhouettes, shrubs with coloured stems and scented flowers and colourful ground cover.  On a smaller scale,




EXOTIC COURTYARD GARDEN KENSINGTON

A strong design was needed for this highly visible and busy courtyard between the imposing white stucco house and facing Arts & Crafts style artist’s studio.  The lack of architectural harmony and symmetry was offset with the dynamism of the diagonal paving and use of circles.
