PUTNEY NEW BUILD
An exotic new garden has been created from the developer’s
legacy – a small plot of rubble covered with lawn surrounded
by high fencing.
The client’s New Zealand heritage is evoked with a
tree fern, phormium, flax, pittosporum and muehlenbeckia.
The sundowner seat is backed by polished steel strips mirroring
the bamboo screening. Further interest and depth are provided
by chunky raised beds overflowing with palm, fig, jasmine,
canna and ginger lilies. The conservatory looks out on Japanese
maples and anemones, ferns, loquat and fatsia.
The tone is set at the front with ornamental grasses and phormium
catching the wind and sun.
