BUSHY PARK
The grounds of this historic house in The Royal Park at
Hampton had been abandoned since WWI, leaving only a few
surviving
trees.
We prepared the masterplan and planting plans, supplied
the trees, hedging and plants and advised on treework,
the new
fountain, irrigation, rabbit control, etc.
A dramatic entrance
of Yew crescents and pillars frames the facade and screens
the gardens from the public, a grid
of
fastigiate trees is set in a box parterre, formal lawns
and the oval pool are edged with staggered Yew and Beech
hedging.
Willows and woodland borders at the rear and the ornamental
grass and late perennial garden blend into the Park. |
