This new garden was created when the property was extended to provide a backdrop to the owner’s collection of artistic sculptures, wall plaques, artefacts and furniture.  The informal curvy lawn is flanked by shady sweeps of woodland planting on one side and sunny ornamental grasses, jewel coloured perennials and structural shrubs on the other.

New brick boundaries are contrasted by the black timber of the curved garage and the black rendered wall. The Grasses, Japanese Maple and Honeysuckle shine out against the dark backdrop.

Ornamental trees include a couple of Acacia baileyana, an Amelanchier and Morello Cherry to complement the existing pair of Weeping Birches and a green Japanese Maple.

The generous terrace boasts an elliptical oak table the surface of which radiates off an offset slate detail.  The faux lead water tank with a lion head wall fountain is surrounded by scented Star Jasmine and a collection of pots colourfully planted.

The final image shows part of the tapestry lawn planted at the front to replace lawn which failed to establish above the fantastic display of spring bulbs.  Plugs of low perennials especially natives were selected for attracting pollinators and providing ground cover to suppress the weeds.
