This new roof terrace was created in collaboration with James Wells Architects to allow the contemporary furniture, stylish planters and architectural planting to complement the interior design.

The toughness of the planting and weight and durability of the furniture and planters needed to be suitable for the sunny and exposed site.  A high bar table and chairs were chosen to allow the view over the Plane Tree filled square to be fully enjoyed.  Informal evergreen hedging plants were selected for screening and to provide a wind break against the prevailing wind.  Other plants provide interest all year especially with scent and movement while not encroaching on the views.

This low maintenance planting of predominantly evergreen shrubs is designed to thrive with the simple automatic irrigation system.
