As part of the renovation of this listed building, we created a courtyard garden for the guests of these boutique serviced apartments to enjoy all year.

Enclosed on two sides by tall properties including a modern architect-designed home, Emma proposed to create a colourful contemporary courtyard.  Large containers in various geometric forms and shades are filled with structural planting.

The specimen Strawberry Tree provides clusters of white flowers followed by edible fruit which turn from green to orange to red.  Astilbes grow white and pink plumes in summer and self clinging climbers will clad the high walls.

As well as tables and chairs for eating out there are contemporary lounge chairs with outdoor cushions and a geometric patterned rug made in Britain using recycled plastic water bottles.

Situated in one of the most beautiful Georgian streets in Central London, overlooking the home of Charles Dickens, No. 5 Doughty Street is close to The City and West End.
