Olive trees, especially in containers which are likely to cause stress, can be damaged by scale insects and Olive scab. If not treated, the Olive can loose leaves, weaken and become covered in sooty mould.
As the growers and nurseries tend to use chemical control to hold damage at bay, the pest is difficult to spot initially.
